The SOFEC Service Buoy is a cost-effective alternative to conventional subsea tieback configurations requiring piggable dual pipelines with a parallel control umbilical. This subsea tieback systems requires only a single pipeline between the control buoy and host production facility. The riser between the SOFEC Service Buoy and subsea well provides pigging capability for the marine pipeline. The umbilical between the control buoy and wellhead system provides well control, injection fluids, and power to electrical submersible pumps. Facilities onboard the unmanned SOFEC Service Buoy may include power generation, methanol/chemical storage, pig launching, and a master control system.
