The SOFEC Double Point Mooring System* provides an economic solution for mooring larger vessels in moderate environments at deepwater locations. It is similar to standard "spread moorings" in many aspects. One of the major advantages of this mooring system is that work vessels or shuttle tankers cannot come into contact with the anchor legs during tandem or side-by-side offloading operations. Either catenary anchor legs or taut leg systems can be used with this vessel configuration.
